45th Annual PSPA CME Conference
October 21-24, 2020
Bayfront Convention Center
Join the PSPA Erie for CME and Relaxation or Go Virtual
The PSPA is happy to announce the 45th PSPA CME Conference will be held in-person at the Bayfront Convention Center, October 21-24, 2020 as Erie, PA, has opened for meetings and conferences. The preparations for the conference are underway. Every meeting detail is being reviewed and reset to provide the most safe, contactless, and comfortable environment as possible.
The PSPA is excited to offer a second option to attend the CME conference via a Virtual experience. We know there may be challenges for you to get away for CME or plans may change at the last minute, the PSPA wants to provide flexibility so you may continue to receive PSPA’s high-quality CME sessions. Attendees will have access to 26 hours of CME via live-stream sessions. The live-stream sessions will be offered on-demand after the conference so you can review a session or catch up on the sessions you may have missed due to a change in your schedule.
To provide even more flexibility, the PSPA is offering the option to change your registration type from in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person until Wednesday, October 9, 2020.
For either registration choice, we have a great line-up of speakers that will provide 26 hours of CME sessions and 9 two-hour workshops including topics such as suturing, heart sounds, wound care and several more. The schedule of events and speakers can be found here. There will also be many networking opportunities between the in-person and virtual attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors.
There will be a different look for the in-person conference but you can be confident that the Bayfront Convention Center and the Courtyard by Marriot will both be providing clean, safe, and healthy spaces for you to feel completely at ease in their facilities. Some examples include more space between attendees during the general sessions, meals, and exhibit hall, registration being practically hands-free, and meals provided with the utmost care. The PSPA will continue to follow and adjust to all government regulations and guidelines. Please review statements from the Bayfront Convention Center and Courtyard by Marriott.
As the in-person guidelines continue to change, the PSPA is requiring a waiver to be signed by each attendee and any guest for attendance to the conference. The waiver can be found at this link for your review. You will be asked to check a box to demonstrate agreement during the registration process. If an attendee plans to bring a guest, the waiver will need to be printed from the PSPA web site, signed by the guest and e-mailed to Susan DeSantis at email@example.com or faxed to (724) 836-4449. All waivers must be completed prior to entering the Bayfront Conference Center. The alternative to signing the waiver is to attend the conference virtually.
The PSPA is looking forward to seeing you whether in-person or virtually so we can come together to obtain CME, learn about new products and services, and celebrate the “hero” in each of you.

CME ACCREDITATION FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS
The PSPA will be applying for 26 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME from the American Academy of Physician Assistants for the clinical/professional sessions and 18 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME for the workshops from the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
The CME Certificate for PAs attending the conference will be sent via US Mail to the registration address.
The NCCPA and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants have worked together to reduce the time and effort associated with logging your conference hours for our Fall CME Conference. NCCPA has designed a special system whereby PAs can click on a unique link in their online NCCPA personal certification record at www.nccpa.net and select the sessions they attended from a master list of sessions that PSPA supplied to NCCPA. The PA can automatically apply those sessions wherever they need them, as long as the hours are earned in the correct logging window. Logging will be available starting November 1, 2020.
SELF-PRINTING OF LECTURES
PSPA receives the preliminary lecture slides or outlines from our speakers prior to the conference. The material that we receive will be online for conference registrants by October 13, 2020. Please keep in mind that the speakers may make last minute changes to their presentations that would not be in the pre-conference postings. To access the slides, go to the website at www.pspa.net. Click on Events & CME, Annual Conference, Posting of Conference Lectures which is the last menu option under Annual Conference. A login screen will open if you are not already logged in. If you are a member, enter your email address in the first box as your login ID and enter your case-sensitive password in the second box. If you are not a member, please refer to your registration confirmation email for a login ID and password to view the lectures. Click Login and a detailed conference schedule should open. Click on the underlined lecture topics to open the slides.
PSPA will post the final slides for self-printing beginning November 1, 2020. The slides will be available on the website until December 1, 2020, for non-members.
REGISTRATION BADGES WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION TO ALL CONFERENCE EVENTS.
Thursday, October 22, 2020 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Friday, October 23, 2020 9:00 am – 12 pm
Exhibitors and sponsors will have two options this year – they may join us in Erie and/or have a virtual exhibit booth. The conference app will allow in-person and virtual attendees to research their products, download materials, and schedule an appointment with a one-to-one Zoom.call. Exhibitor and sponsor information will be available prior to and after the conference through the conference app.
The Exhibit Hall is open to any PA who has a side business or hobby that he/she might want to share with the conference attendees. There is a nominal fee (the cost PSPA incurs to rent the table) but after that, it is all profit for you. If you have any questions or would like to exhibit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to liability issues and for the convenience of other conference participants, no children under the age of 18 will be allowed in the lecture hall, exhibit areas or evening events. These areas are reserved for registered conference participants.
