We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Physician Assistant (PA) profession in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We recognize that multifactorial diversity exists in our society. We believe that diversity should be supported and celebrated. We seek to collaborate with partners to help raise awareness and address concerns regarding disparities. We welcome opportunities to embody and support differences in gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, veteran status, experience in service to underserved populations, geographic origin, abilities and socioeconomic status within our committee and the PA community at large.
We strive for improved advocacy for marginalized groups in medicine, for both providers and patients. We will continue to educate ourselves on health disparities, equity, and inequities. We actively seek opportunities to share information and collaborate with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectives. We aspire to mentor youths, pre-PA students, current PA students, and PA fellows from all backgrounds to help promote diversity within the PA profession in our Commonwealth.
The Health Disparities Committee encourages current and future PAs to advance the profession through educating themselves and others. To join the committee, email healthdisparities@pspa.net for more information.
